My premium membership has almost come full circle! A year ago, an awesome deviant from the UK,
, gave me a year long premium membership last year as a gift
I would like to thank you once again for being awesome, making awesome Disney and Kingdom Hearts art, and always being supportive. You rock!
As for life updates, I got a promotion with Anime USA again! I am now the Core Panel Programming and Events Manager. This means that I am in charge of selecting the fan run panels, AMV contest, Anime Game Show, and the Karaoke Contest. This is pretty awesome, and I'm really happy that I was asked to take the position. Since it was a sudden promotion, I am still going to be doing some marketing work for the convention this year. I also am starting to expand my crafting abilities. I just re-taught myself how to knit this weekend. I have a desire to cosplay from the Harry Potter universe later this year, and I want to make the scarf myself lol, so I'm working on getting to that level. Also, I just got confirmed as a panelist for Anime Central in Chicago! I'm really excited to be presenting my panels, "Maid Cafes in America" and "How to Para Para".
This weekend, the husband, Robbie, and I decided to visit my family in Maryland for Easter this weekend. While we were here, I took my son and husband to my favorite greenhouse growing up, Dutch Plant Farms. They have some really cool stuff on the inside, like a giant koi pond, a couple parrots, and a HUMUNGOUS orange tree. The tree was even producing ripe fruit! We were walking by it, and the worker there just walked up to us and picked some oranges for us to try. Robbie's face was the funniest thing! He was happily sucking on it for a couple minutes; then my husband squirted a little bit of the juice into his mouth! His face after tasting the juice was the most disgusted, bleck face I have ever seen XD Here's a picture of us with the orange tree (before the bleck face) www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbi…
Also, I ended up buying a bunch of four way stretch wet look spandex in Frederick this weekend, so I'm going to make my Black Cat bodysuit from scratch (since the one I bought doesn't fit). I wasn't planning on doing this until early next year, but the fabric was 50% off and was very hard to find. Seriously, I've been scouring stores for over a month looking for a fabric remotely close to it. Needless to say, since I am making it from scratch now, including drafting the pattern, I probably won't have it done in time for ACEN, and if I do, I won't be able to were it due to my panel schedule.
Well, that's all that's been going on with me lately. Peace out home skillets!
